Malibu Diner on the corner of 23rd Street is a fantastic find! The interior is decent and there’s plenty of seating. I tried the Dinner Special, which is a great deal—it comes with hot soup, garlic bread, a main (pasta/fish/chicken), and a drink. The Vegetable Soup was hot and flavorful, the garlic bread was perfectly seasoned with herbs, and the Vegetarian Penne Pasta was amazing. To top it off, the staff is incredibly welcoming and serves you with a genuine smile. Highly recommend!

I heard from a friend that today is Malibu's last day at this location and is moving to a new location on 20th St & 7th Avenue. I'm going to miss Malibu. I've been going to this wonderful diner for more than 10 years, I didn't like it at first but they've improved over the years. They have great service and their food is absolutely delicious. Even though it's a little pricey, it's very much worth it!

Good service, nice American Diner atmosphere with adequate seating. Food was just okay. My turkey Reuben was not on rye, his club was just ham and bacon, fries and coleslaw were better. Apple pie slice was huge and looked great but was served cold and not much flavor.

Classic NY diner with very comfortable booths, friendly staff, and delicious food. If you’re looking for a menu 8 pages long, free refills on your fountain drinks, and a booth to sit in to relax with friends over a great meal - this is the place.

Malibu Diner in New York is a cozy throwback spot that feels like stepping straight into the old days, with retro décor and those classic little chairs attached to the bar adding to its charm. The place has that authentic diner vibe that makes you want to linger, though the hamburger I tried was unfortunately far too greasy. On the bright side, the matzo ball soup was absolutely delightful—comforting, flavorful, and worth the visit on its own. It’s a cute little gem with plenty of nostalgic character, and despite the burger miss, I’ll be heading back to explore more of the menu.
