Something to note, they only serve 2 types of beer, dark ale and light ale. The atmosphere is amazing, and unique. I would recommend coming here, I heard it was America's oldest running saloon. The swinging doors may be original, not sure but it's cash only and again, the atmosphere has some magical essence about it. There is food to order, although we didn't order any. Definitely not a quiet place, at least not when we were there. I would recommend to go for history buffs, beer drinkers and just anyone who wants to experience a step back in time.

If you are in New York, this is a stop you won’t regret. The menu is very limited…And that’s on purpose. If you like, beer, cheese, and crackers, and a little bar food… and 175 years of nostalgia, you will have a great time here. The atmosphere can’t be beat. And if your mug is even close to empty, you will be asked about getting another in a split second. You will sit with strangers and have great conversations… It can’t be helped.

Be a part of history at the oldest pub in New York City! This is my second time coming to this place about seven or eight years apart because I have not been to the city since before the pandemic. If you want to experience true local big history, this is the way to do it. Very little has changed in 170 years, and that alone makes the entire experience worth it. Sawdust covered floors, Warren bar top from millions of patrons mingling and sharing stories of the day. Noticed the lamp above the bar with the turkey wishbones as fallen veterans who never came home are honored from a World War. Pro tip: never order only one beer here as it’s just not the way it’s done and the beers are small. Light and dark beer are your only options and quite frankly the only ones you need. If you want to go old school, grab a liverwurst sandwich with deli mustard, whole wheat, bread, and raw onion. Eat like your grandfather would have if he was here back in the day.

It was an amazing experience. We didn't eat there. We did order dark and light beer 🍺 $8 for 2. So cool 😎. We sat with strangers and now have new friends 🧡. It's loud, fun, and exciting. BRING CASH 💸 they have restrooms 🚻 small, though. When visiting NYC, this is a need to visit.

What's not to love about this place. A warm welcome from the staff and the roaring fire in the middle of this saw dust sanctuary. Traditional values and decor still remain to this day and you wouldn't want it any other way. The best drinking spot, cosy, such a buzz with conversation and drink flowing together in harmony. I can't wait to return 🫡
