This place was like being on a movie set - it even had sawdust on the floor. We didn't eat here but the meals coming out of the kitchen looked great. They only serve ale and soft drinks but it's such a wonderful place it's definitely worth a visit. Real old world charm.

You can never go wrong at McSorley‘s! So much history, great atmosphere, excellent beer, and you will most definitely meet new friends. We always make this a stop when we are in NYC. Definitely check it out!

Something to note, they only serve 2 types of beer, dark ale and light ale. The atmosphere is amazing, and unique. I would recommend coming here, I heard it was America's oldest running saloon. The swinging doors may be original, not sure but it's cash only and again, the atmosphere has some magical essence about it. There is food to order, although we didn't order any. Definitely not a quiet place, at least not when we were there. I would recommend to go for history buffs, beer drinkers and just anyone who wants to experience a step back in time.

McSorley’s is one of the coolest bars I’ve been to in my life. The sawdust on the floor, no music, it really encourages you to sit and chat with strangers - very few people have their phones out. It’s a great experience. If you don’t like beer (light or dark are your choices) maybe try somewhere else, and keep in mind that this is a cash only establishment. There’s an ATM right outside, which makes things that much easier. Having been a few times (weekdays and weekends), my suggestion would be to head over on a weeknight when it’s slower and quiet. You’ll be able to really chat with the bartenders and hear the stories of everything behind the bar, the wishbones, and the original piece of wood still on the main bar. Weekends are still awesome - but way louder and less room to move around. A very special place that’s worth your time for a pint or two!

What's not to love about this place. A warm welcome from the staff and the roaring fire in the middle of this saw dust sanctuary. Traditional values and decor still remain to this day and you wouldn't want it any other way. The best drinking spot, cosy, such a buzz with conversation and drink flowing together in harmony. I can't wait to return 🫡
